"When I was in hair school and just learning about layering, I didn’t realize that I wasn’t supposed to cut the hair at the bottom, since that’s what keeps the perimeter all the same length. So, I confidently started cutting my mannequin, and then my teacher walked up and FROZE when she saw what I had done. The entire left side of my Debra’s head was cut WAY too short. It was so short that I had to modify every other haircut I learned on her because there wasn’t enough length left to cut anymore. But don’t worry everyone! I am CONFIDENT in layering now haha."

"When I was in orientation (the beginning class) I decided to take my totally natural dirty blonde hair, and BLEACH THE WHOLE THING. I was convinced that I would look like I was straight out of Tumblr. BUTTTTTTT I had one of my fellow students do it and let me tell you something was wrong with the toner. My hair turned pink. To this day we have no idea what happened with the formula, but i walked out with chunks of cotton candy colored hair. My parents spent over 200 dollars fixing it, the salon we ened up at actually was Ottalaus, little did I know I would be working there years later lol."

"When my son was about 10 years old, I started working in a barber shop and brought him in to get his haircut instead of doing it at home. After his haircut I took him to the shampoo bowl to wash him out and there was another client in the chair next to him with a steam towel over his face. My son insisted on having one too. Since that day, over 4 years later, he still wants his haircut at the bougie barber shop (Ottalaus) with a steam towel on his face. He's a sucker for the luxury.
